Every project arrives with two to three hundred thousand dollars of professional equipment on site. We carry a two million dollar umbrella insurance policy. Workers’ compensation on every crew member. The Connecticut Home Improvement Contractor registration has been current since 2012. If anything happens during the build, you’re covered. If anything settles or shifts after the build, you call John on his cell and we come back and fix it. That’s not a sales pitch. That’s how we’ve operated for thirteen years.

Itemized contracts. No verbal handshakes.

Every contract we send lists materials by name, quantities, dimensions and locations. Not “patio installation.” Instead: “480 square feet of Techo-Bloc Blu 60 in Champlain Grey, set on a six-inch compacted base of three-quarter inch crushed stone, edged with Pavetech aluminum restraint, joint-stabilized with polymeric sand.” When you sign, you know exactly what you’re getting. When we hand you the keys, you know exactly what you got.

A real blueprint when the project needs one.

For projects over five thousand dollars, we recommend a real to-scale blueprint before any work starts. John partners with Aaron, a landscape architect at Mapletree Nursery, who handles the drawing directly. Aaron bills hourly. You pay him directly. The blueprint becomes the foundation of our contract and your insurance policy on the project. Most contractors don’t offer this. We’ve built our business around it.

We serve West Hartford, Avon, Simsbury, Farmington, Canton, New Hartford, Granby and Burlington. That covers most of northwest Hartford County and the eastern edge of Litchfield County. We stay close to home on purpose so we can be on your property quickly when something needs attention.

Most of our hardscape and outdoor living projects start around $20,000. We do larger custom transformations up to $200,000 and occasionally beyond. For longtime clients we’ll happily come back for smaller projects, but new clients should expect the minimum project size of $20,000.

Real equipment, real insurance, trained crew, and materials that survive Connecticut winters. We’re not the cheapest in the area and we say so up front. Most of our clients hire us specifically because they tried the cheapest option once and ended up redoing the work.

Most transformations finish in three to four weeks once we’re on site. Design and planning adds two to four weeks before the build starts. Larger projects with water features, retaining walls and lighting can run six to eight weeks total.
